WAUSAU – The Wausau Conservatory of Music has hired Olivia Hill as its new executive director, effective Aug. 19, the conservatory announced this week.

Coming to WCM from Breckenridge, Colorado, Hill was the director of education and event operations at Breckenridge Music, a year-round live music-presenting nonprofit organization. There she provided music and arts-related experiences for students in the surrounding area, creating their first annual KidFest, a one day event that engaged over 750 adults and kids in programs focusing on literacy, visual and musical arts of all kinds.

Hill has also worked with the Harold Green Jewish Theatre Co. and DeLeon White Gallery in Toronto, Canada, Seven Days of Opening Nights in Tallahassee, Florida, Keystone Science School in Keystone, Colorado, and the National Repertory Orchestra in Breckenridge, Colorado.

She also works as an independent talent buyer and booking consultant, booking national touring acts.

“I am quite excited and humbled to immerse myself into Wausau and surrounding areas,” Hill said in a news release. “It’s amazing to be part of a community of people that embraces the arts – especially music!”
