A 25-year-old Bowler man is dead following an early morning rollover, according to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department.
Authorities received a 911 call at about 3 a.m. Monday alerting them to the single-vehicle crash, which happened on CTH N in the town of Almon. A passerby on his way to work called police when he saw headlights in the ditch.
Deputies arriving on scene found the victim lying in the gravel, about 15 feet from the vehicle. Lifesaving measures were not successful and the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
A preliminary investigation shows the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, entered the ditch and struck a culvert surrounded by rocks before overturning.
The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
