WAUSAU PILOT AND REVIEW

Deputies in Lincoln County rounded up 18 people ranging in age from 16 to 20, including one person who was found passed out in a wooded area, and will issue several citations for underage alcohol consumption after investigating a gathering late Saturday in the town of Harding.

When deputies arrived at the cabin numerous people fled into the woods, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department.

Numerous parents were contacted to advise them where their vehicle or children were located, police said.

An underage drinking ticket in Wisconsin is a forfeiture, meaning a non-criminal offense that results in a fine. A first offense carries fines ranging between $100 and $200 and a 30- to 90-day driver’s license suspension. A second offense within one year results in fines of between $200 and $300 and up to a year driver’s license suspension.
