The Marathon County Historical Society has revamped its writers club for those who enjoy recording their family stories, whether you’re a writer, amateur historian or family genealogist.

Remember When Writers, formerly known as I Remember When Club, will meet monthly beginning in September at the Marathon County Historical Society.

Remember When Writers will have a dual focus on preserving family memories and improving writing skills. As before, group members will be encouraged to write a short story each month that can be read aloud at the meeting. Added to each session will be a mini-lesson on writing, and a few minutes of “practice” time.

Remember When Writers will meet monthly on the second Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The next meeting will be Sept. 12, at the Woodson History Center, 410 McIndoe St., Wausau. This group is free and drop-ins are welcome.
