MADISON – Wisconsin Public Radio’s political reporting team and hosts of the “WPR Politics Podcast” will go on a statewide tour beginning in September.

Host John Wilson, state capitol bureau chief Shawn Johnson and state capitol reporter Laurel White will record episodes of their weekly podcast in front of a live audience, and invite listeners to ask questions and reflect on national, state and regional issues.

“Politics Podcast Live” will air at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 12 from the Harbor View Event Center in Washburn; and at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 24 at Raised Grain Brewing Co. in Waukesha.

A third stop, in Eau Claire in November, will be announced soon on wpr.org/presents.

“It’s a great mix,” Wilson said in a news release. “We’ve got the intensive expertise of our politics team, but in a low-key, conversational style. We hope the audience has lots to add, too. We love to hear what people are thinking about.”

The “WPR Politics Podcast” is a weekly show about the ins and outs of Wisconsin’s political news. The host and reporters clue listeners into stories they may have missed and tell them what’s actually interesting about stories they’ve already heard a thousand times.
