WAUSAU — Patriot K9s of Wisconsin Inc. held a ribbon cutting ceremony in mid August to celebrate its new location at 7333 Stewart Ave.
Patriot K9s of Wisconsin trains veterans and their dogs for service work in post traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury and military sexual incident. Staff members train veterans and K9s together, creating a fully certified service dog team upon graduation from the program.
The organization offers opportunities for volunteers to assist with daily tasks and special on-site work projects. Patriot K9s is looking for people who can help with construction and maintenance, office skills, cleaning, fundraising and grant writing, database management, marketing and more.
