KRONENWETTER — An event to honor the memory of first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice on Sept. 11, 2001, will be held early this month.
The Run for the Fallen will be held Sept. 7 at Towering Pines Park, 2355 Tower Road, Kronenwetter. This family friendly event includes a 5K run/walk, 10K run, 1-mile kids’ run and a 1-mile firefighter challenge. All participants are invited to join the 8:45 a.m. opening Memorial Ceremony for a prayer for the fallen, a live bagpipe tribute, Honor Guard services and speeches by special guests.

1-miles firefighter challenge: 11:15 a.m.
Awards ceremony/raffle follows the firefighter challenge.

On Sept. 5 and 6, register from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kronenwetter Fire Department, 1582 Kronenwetter Drive, Kronenwetter. On Sept. 7, registration opens at 7:30 a.m. at Towering Pines Park, 2355 Tower Road, Kronenwetter.
Proceeds from the event benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and Kronenwetter Fire Department.
