RSVP Community Coffee at Marathon County Literacy Council. You and your friends are invited to the RSVP Coffee hour on Tuesday, Sept. 17, from 9:30 a.m. -10:30 a.m. at the McLit office at The Salvation Army, 202 Callon St. Learn how you can volunteer to help adults in areas of language, financial, employment and other areas of literacy. Pack Hot Meals for seniors. Meals on Wheels is a program through the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Central Wisconsin that provides a hot meal to home bound older adults. Help pack meals prior to delivery. Contact Erin at [email protected] or 715-261-6070.

Boys & Girls Club Volunteer. Give back by becoming a volunteer at the Boys & Girls Club! Mentor, engage and build supportive relationships with club members. Commit to 1-2 hours a week Monday – Friday between 3-5 p.m. Contact Mao 715-845-2582, ext. 213

Turkey Trot Volunteers. Come out on Thanksgiving Day and be a part of the Tenth Eastbay Turkey Trot event that supports the Marathon County Hunger Coalition. A variety of volunteer roles are available. The biggest need is for course marshalls along the route. Help Build and/or Design Ramps.  Ramp Up Marathon County provides ramps for seniors to provide safe access to their homes. If you can help build or provide insight into the construction process, contact Erin at [email protected] or 715-261-6070.

In-Kind Donated Items Needed

Got Egg Cartons? The Neighbors’ Place receives fresh eggs and appreciates empty cartons to put them in before shelving. Contact Kathy at [email protected] or 715-848-1966.

Health Equipment. The Good News Project is always happy to accept gently used health care equipment for their lending closet, like bath transfer benches, wheelchairs and knee scooters. Other items are accepted as well. Contact Toni at 715-843-5985.
