Police are asking for the public’s help locating an armed man who was allegedly involved in a chase Wednesday in Clark County — and are now warning residents to stay away from an area in the city of Loyal, and schools in the district are locked down until further notice.

After a chase police say 77-year-old Robert Domine displayed a handgun and ran into a wooded area by the intersection of County Highway Z and Sherwood Road. In a Facebook Post, Clark County officials said Domine likely remained in the area and asked anyone with information to call 715-743-3157.

Just after 2:30 p.m. Thursday the department again took to social media, this time urging residents to steer clear of East Mill Street in Loyal to allow officers to “peacefully resolve a situation from last evening.”

Police say they will update residents and the media when the situation is resolved.
