The following significant incidents were reported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department for the week ending Sept. 16, 2019:

A 19-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested Monday morning on felony drug charges after a traffic stop in the City of Merrill. The Merrill PD K9 Eros alerted to the odor of illegal drugs in the vehicle and during a search, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was located.

A 58-year-old Eau Claire man suffered serious injuries after a two vehicle crash Monday morning in the town of Bradley. The driver was taken to Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital and then flown to the trauma center at Aspirus.

A 41-year-old Merrill man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a warrant charge. At the request of the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, deputies went to the man’s place of employment and took him into custody for probation violations.

A 35-year-old Irma man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a warrant charge just after 2:00 PM. The man was charged with felony counts of possession of amphetamine with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug trafficking place, along with possession of drug paraphernalia for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine.

A 31-year-old Tomahawk man was arrested Wednesday evening on a warrant charge. The man presented himself to staff at the Lincoln County Jail and informed staff he was wanted for violating the terms of his probation.

Two residents from Canada were arrested Thursday evening after deputies investigated a report of a disturbance in the Town of Bradley. A 42-year-old male from Emo, Ontario and a 41 year old female from Fort Frances, Ontario were arrested after deputies investigated the incident which occurred just before 10 p.m.

A 25-year-old Merrill man was arrested Friday evening on a charge possession of marijuana following a traffic stop. The K9 Eros from the Merrill Police Department alerted to the odor of drugs in the vehicle.

A 36-year-old Merrill man will face a felony OWI charge after a crash in the Town of Pine River Friday night.

A 38-year-old Merrill man was arrested Friday evening on warrant charge after the Wisconsin Department of Corrections requested he be taken into custody for violating the rules for his electronic monitor.

Two men were taken into custody after a deputy stopped to check on two motorcycles parked on the side of the road on Hwy. 51 near Irma Sunday morning. Both men were placed through field sobriety tests. As a result of those tests a 46-year-old man from Cato in Manitowoc County was cited for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and 44-year-old Forest Junction man was arrested on a felony fifth offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Both men were on probation and were also charged for violating the terms of their probation.

A 33-year-old Merrill man was arrested Sunday morning after deputies responded to a domestic incident in the Town of Bradley. Deputies arrested the man on a misdemeanor charge of battery along with felony charges of substantial battery and intimidating a victim. The man is being held for a bond hearing on Monday afternoon.

Deputies assisted four kayakers who were thrown out of their kayaks in the Prairie River south of Gleason Sunday. A cell 911 call reported an empty kayak floating down the river at 4 p.m. Eventually all of the parties were located and a deputy later found two out of the four missing kayaks using a drone.

Deputies worked extra hours last week as part of a state funded grants to promote traffic safety in Lincoln County. This added considerable call volume to the communications staff who handled over 200 traffic stops in addition to the increased call volume for the annual Fall Ride. No major incidents were investigated by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department during the Fall Ride event and no motorcycles were involved in any crashes.

The number of deer crashes is still steady at 11.
