WAUSAU – Wausau West made it look easy during a sweep of D.C. Everest in Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet action Monday by sweeping all seven matches in straight sets.

Three of the singles matches ended in shutouts with No. 1 singles player Natasha Bailey, Lilia Teske at No. 2 and Molly Schaefer in the No. 4 spot all earning 6-0, 6-0 victories to help the Warriors improve to 3-0 in the conference.

Brenna Holtz and Rachel Hartman also claimed a 6-0, 6-0 win for West at No. 3 doubles.

Singles: No. 1 – Natasha Bailey (WW) def. Taylor Moermond, 6-0, 6-0; No. 2 – Lilia Teske (WW) def. Ruoyu Chen, 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 – Sophia Kohl (WW) def. Nya Harrington, 6-2, 6-0; No. 4 – Molly Schaefer (WW) def. Maddy Lemke, 6-0, 6-0.

Doubles: No. 1 – Mallory Names/Madeleine Bizjak (WW) def. Calista Fuehrer/Paige Ziarnik, 6-2, 6-2; No. 2 – Madeleine Bizjak/Mia Hoehn (WW) def. Morgan Geir/Kyra Loomans, 6-2, 6-0; No. 3 – Brenna Holtz/Rachel Hartman (WW) def. Mikayla Pozorski/Morgan Hahn, 6-0, 6-0.

Newman Catholic 6, Pacelli 1

STEVENS POINT – Newman Catholic swept all four singles matches and dropped a total of just three games in the process to cruise to a dual meet win over Pacelli at Goerke Park.

Becky Larrain continued to dominate at No. 1 singles with a 6-0, 6-0 blanking of Amanda Lansing.

Newman Catholic’s Destiny Lo and Desirae Lo were pushed to the limit at No. 2 doubles before pulling out a victory. The No. 3 doubles tandem of Natalie Townsend and Gabby Hackett also went the distance for a hard-fought win.
