“Wisconsin’s Beer Heritage” will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 8; presented by Terese Barta, associate professor in the Department of Biology. Held in the Pinery Room of the Portage County Public Library, this is the second talk in the eight-part 2019-2020 Community Lecture Series. The public can attend for free.

“This presentation will survey the history of brewing and take a look at the rich brewing tradition in Wisconsin,” said Barta, who has been an avid home brewer for more than 20 years.

The combined voices of several choirs will perform the first vocal concert of the semester, “One Voice, Many Colors,” at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 11, at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point.

The concert by the Choral Union, Campus Choir, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers will be held in Michelsen Hall of the Noel Fine Arts Center, 1800 Portage St., Stevens Point. The Concert Choir, Choral Union and Campus Choir are under the direction of Shawn Cody Miller, assistant professor and director of choral activities in the Department of Music, and the Chamber Singers are directed by Professor Susan Bender.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for UW-Stevens Point students, faculty and youths and free the day of the concert for students with a UW-Stevens Point I.D. if not sold out.
