A 51-year-old Mosinee man was cited late Thursday after deputies responded to a report of a vehicle fire in the Lincoln County town of Pine River.

A 911 caller at about 8 p.m. reported the blaze in the area of Hwy. 64 and High Ridge Road, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. A responding deputy located the source of the blaze and discovered a vehicle had left the roadway and crashed into  a tree, causing the car to start on fire.

Police say the driver showed signs of impairment and was cited for first offense operating while intoxicated. The man’s name was not released.

No injuries were reported.
