WAUSAU – In an effort to bring awareness of breast cancer, the city of Wausau is going pink at dusk on Oct. 13 when the street lights on the Bridge Street bridge and lights on the riverfront will be lit up in pink.

“Our city vows to honor the loving memory of those lost to this disease and we pray for their grieving families,” said Mayor Robert Mielke in a news release. “The good news is that most women can survive breast cancer if it’s found and treated early. It is vitally important to support the survivors and their families in
our community and stand by the numerous organizations working tirelessly to find a cure.”
