Marathon County volunteer opportunities: Week of Oct. 21

Be a Temporary Pet Foster Care Volunteer. Help victims of sexual assault and domestic violence by providing a temporary safe place for their furry loved ones. You will be provided with all supplies, we just need you to provide a roof over their heads, compassionate care, and a little extra love during their transition period. Holiday Help. St. Vincent DePaul is seeking people who would assist the holiday department in our processing area. Help sort, clean and price our holiday donations to prep for our grand opening of our Christmas Boutique on Nov. 1. Contact Kim Kuske 715-298-3028.

Greeters at North Central Health Care. Welcome and direct guests during morning or afternoon volunteer shifts. If you are friendly, comfortable on phones and computers contact Laural 715-848-4450 or volunteer@norcen.org.

Clerical and Computer. Help is needed in several departments to assist staff with data entry, general office work and clerical tasks. Knowledge of Excel spreadsheets is a plus. Contact Shirley or Yo at volunteers@aspirus.org or 715-847-2848.

Warming Center Volunteers. Work shifts at The Warming Center this winter. Most needed shift is 9 p.m. – 2 a.m. and 2 a.m. – 8 a.m. Training provided various days at Catholic Charities (540 South Third Ave. in Wausau). Contact Tracy at 608-519-8069 or trieger@cclse.org.

In-Kind Donated Items Needed

Undergarment Needs. Bare Necessities is a project of the Workplace Volunteer Council which collects and distributes new undergarments to families in need. Briefs, boxers and T-shirts for boys (sizes 2T- 12) and men are especially needed. Contact Janet at 715-359-2073 or jfelch@jdtube.com.

Warm Clothes for People in Transition. The Open Door needs warm socks, jackets, hats, gloves and long underwear for people who are making the transition out of incarceration. Help them meet their basic needs and move ahead! Contact Anne at 715-848-4044 or opendoor319@gmail.com.

Holiday Meal: Turkey and Hams Needed. The Salvation Army is in need of turkeys and hams for families its is helping this holiday season. Contact Colleen at 715 845-4272 or colleen_mashlan@usc.salvationarmy.org.
