The following significant incidents were reported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department for the week ending Oct. 20, 2019:

A 40-year-old Michigan man was arrested for a drug offense following a traffic stop in the Town of Rock Falls on Monday afternoon. When the deputy made contact with the driver he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A 43-year-old Merrill man was arrested Tuesday evening on a warrant issued by the Lincoln County Court for disorderly conduct.

Two Merrill men were duck hunting on Lake Alice in the Town of King when their boat started filling with water and capsized causing them to have to swim to shore. The Recreation Deputy assisted in removing the boat from the water along with much of their gear. The hull of the boat had been repaired previously and that repair may have let loose allowing the water to come in. The boat did not completely sink but had taken on enough water that caused it to roll over. There were no injuries reported and the men had flotation devices.

Twelve people reported striking deer last week.
