A 20 year old Merrill man was arrested Monday evening after a traffic stop in the Town of Merrill. A check showed the man had a revoked driver’s license and was wanted for contempt of court. The man was cited for an 8th offense of operating after revocation and brought to jail on the Lincoln County warrant.

A 28 year old Merrill man was arrested Tuesday morning in the Town of Pine River following a traffic stop. A check showed the driver had a revoked license and was violating the terms of a bond in a felony case in Lincoln County Court. The driver was cited for a 12th offense of operating a motor vehicle while revoked and brought to jail on the felony bail jumping charge.

A 53 year old Merrill man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on multiple charges after deputies investigated a report of a wanted person in the Town of Corning. Charges included two counts of disorderly conduct, battery and a felony count of suffocation/strangulation, and warrants through the Langlade County Sheriff for disorderly conduct and the Wisconsin Department of Corrections for violating the terms of his probation.

A 62 year old Merrill woman received minor injuries but refused medical transport following a single vehicle crash Thursday morning in the Town of Pine River.

A 52 year old Tomahawk man was taken into custody and turned over to Oneida County after a deputy recovered a stolen vehicle on Thursday. Oneida County deputies asked Lincoln County to be on the lookout for the 2019 GMC after it was rented from a car dealer in Rhinelander and never returned.

At least one person was injured after a two vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in the Town of Schley. 911 callers reported the crash at State Rd 17 and County Rd C at 2:45 PM. A vehicle being driven by a 23 year old Oshkosh woman pulled out into the path of a northbound vehicle being driven by a 24 year old Gleason woman causing the crash. Both denied medical transport.

A 46 year old Gleason man was arrested Friday morning on multiple charges in the Town of Russell. A complaint was received that the suspect violated a restraining order and yelled obscenities at the victim while outside a business in Gleason. The man was located and taken into custody, he was brought to the Lincoln County Jail where he was charged with disorderly conduct, violating a restraining order and misdemeanor bail jumping.

A 28 year old Merrill woman was taken into custody and will face drug charges after a traffic stop in the Town of Merrill. The driver showed signs of impairment and was placed through field sobriety tests, as a result of those tests she was taken into custody for a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. During a search of the vehicle a deputy located marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Ten people reported striking deer this past week. A 34 year old Rhinelander woman received non-life threatening injuries on Thursday evening after she struck a deer in the Town of Bradley.

On Saturday morning a Milwaukee man struck and injured an eagle on State Rd 17 near County Rd CCC. Wild Instincts of Rhinelander responded to the scene and recovered the injured bird.
