WAUSAU — The Salvation Army of Marathon County will begin its annual Red Kettle Campaign at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at the 400 Block in Wausau.

The bell-ringing season officially begins on Nov. 9 and will run through Dec. 24, Monday through Saturday, at various retail locations throughout Wausau, and other locations within Marathon County.

The Wausau East High School Band will perform at the campaign kickoff and a balloon glow and food trucks will be part of the event, weather permitting. Members of the local fire department, staff, board members and volunteers will be present.

The 2019 Marathon County fundraising goal will be announced at the kickoff, and stations will be set up where volunteers can sign up to ring. The Kettle Pass buttons can be purchased, at the $100 gold level, $50 silver level and $25 bronze level, from any Salvation Army board member. All proceeds from the Wausau Salvation Army bell-ringing campaign goal will be used to help those in need in Marathon County.
