UPDATE:
A village of Aniwa home is a total loss after a fire broke out Thursday afternoon.
The blaze was reported at about 1:35 p.m. at a residence on Hwy. Z near Hwy. 45. Crews from Easton, Hewitt and Birnamwood responded to the blaze.
Authorities say at least one person was inside the home when the blaze broke out but escaped safely. Several animals are believed to have died in the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation.
