The Wausau Police Department is investigating a report of a needle found in a piece of Halloween candy in Wausau, according to a department Facebook post.
A resident posted a photo and warning on Facebook claiming to have discovered a needle inside a Snickers bar after trick or treating on the city’s west side. The poster did file a complaint with the Wausau Police Department and an investigation is underway.
The post, with the identity of the reporting party, appears below:
“While situations like this are extremely rare, we always encourage parents to check food items their children receive during Halloween,” Police Department officials posted on Facebook.
