County leaders on Tuesday will appoint two new representatives to the Marathon County Board of Supervisors to fill existing vacancies.

Supervisors will consider Kelley Gabor, who owns a logistics company, to represent Dist. 8. That district was vacated after Karen Kellbach stepped down, shortly before her death.

Former Wausau City Council member David Oberbeck is being considered for Dist. 9, which has been vacant since former supervisor Ashley Lange moved out of the district. Oberbeck served three terms on the Wausau City Council and currently sits on Wausau’s Zoning Board of Appeals and the Historic Preservation Commission.

Oberbeck is expected to serve on the Environmental Resources Committee, Social Services Board, and Transportation Coordinating Committee. Gabor will be appointed to the Public Safety Committee and the Social Services Board.

Each candidate will serve the remainder of the current board term, which expires in April 2020. The spring election is set for April 7.

The appointments will come before the full board during their regularly scheduled meeting at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Marathon County Courthouse, 500 Forest St., Wausau.
