WAUSAU — The Boys & Girls Club of the Wausau Area has expanded its free transportation program to the club after school. All students fourth – 12th grade at the following schools have access to busing from school to the club:

  • Wausau East High School
  • Wausau West High School
  • Horace Mann Middle School
  • John Muir Middle School
  • Montessori Charter School
  • Riverview Elementary School
  • Hawthorn Hills Elementary School
  • G.D. Jones Elementary School
  • Jefferson Elementary School
  • Grant Elementary School

“Members who attend the club two or more times per week skip fewer days of school, perform better than their peers and are more likely to pursue further education,” said CEO Matt Jameson in a news release. “Part of our mission is to develop a passion for learning, a component of that is offering the Boys & Girls Club as a safe and fun place for kids to go after school.”

Members joining the club from elementary schools need to fill out a permission form, which can be found here.
