Weather officials have updated winter storm predictions, upgrading what was once a winter storm watch to a winter storm warning for Wausau and Marathon County until noon on Sunday.
The storm is expected to dump up to 11 inches of snow before it’s all over.
Expect a wintry mix of precipitation to the late Friday through the day Saturday with a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Some freezing rain and sleet may mix in at times through Saturday evening.
Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. Travel could be very difficult to impossible, according to the National Weather Center in Green Bay.
Wausau Pilot and Review will continue to monitor the situation and report on changing weather predictions as the storm approaches.
