WAUSAU — A five-day jury trial for a 45-year-old former Weston man accused of watching sexually explicit movies with children and acting out scenes from movies is underway in Marathon County Circuit Court, after the defendant in the case rejected a plea offer from prosecutors.
Michael K. Justice, now of North Carolina, faces multiple felony charge filed April 14, 2017 in Marathon County Circuit Court, months before Justice was extradited from North Carolina.
During a motions hearing early Monday, Circuit Judge LaMont Jacobson amended the charges against Justice, eliminating four of 10 counts. Justice is now being tried on two counts of repeated sexual assault of the same child with at least three violations of first-degree sexual assault; two counts of child enticement; and two counts of cauting a child younger than 13 to view or listen to a sex act.
The trial continues at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Twelve jurors and two alternates will consider Justice’s fate. He faces up to 195 years in prison if he is convicted on all counts.
