It’s true what they say – you can take the dog out of the street, but you can’t take the street out of the dog! My name is Day Day, and a part of me will probably always be that scrappy girl who had to make her own way on the streets of Fort Worth, Texas.

I’ll need you to show me that life doesn’t have to be that way and help me feel the safety and security I’ve always craved, but have never known.

I love attention but food is my absolute favorite! In the shelter setting I’m a little defensive toward other dogs and I definitely do NOT want to share my toys or my treats. I have to tell you, too, that I absolutely can’t share my home with cats because my prey drive is just far too high after all that time making my own way.

I know I have a lot of baggage, but I’m hoping you can help me carry it. I just need the right home, and someone to really love. Come see me today and let’s see if it’s meant to be!

Editor’s note: Pet of the week is a weekly feature profiling pets at the Humane Society of Marathon County in need of a home. To find out more about this week’s pet and the adoption process, visit the HSMC website here.
