Another weather system is headed to central and northern Wisconsin, prompting winter weather advisories north of Marathon County and a special weather statement for the Wausau area

Shallow moisture is expected to build across the area tonight into early Monday morning, allowing freezing drizzle to develop across much of northeast Wisconsin, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

The freezing drizzle is then expected to gradually transition to snow from northwest to southeast from mid morning Monday through early afternoon.

The freezing drizzle is expected to remain fairly light; however, it only takes a light glaze to cause untreated surfaces to become very slippery, weather officials say.

If freezing drizzle develops tonight into Monday morning, remember to slow down and use caution while traveling. Be sure to allow extra time for the Monday morning commute and be on the lookout for changing weather forecasts.
