An updated forecast by the National Weather Service in Green Bay shows a winter weather advisory now in effect for Marathon County as freezing drizzle develops in the region, lingering through mid-morning.

Expect patchy freezing drizzle to slowly transition to snow by late morning as colder and deeper moisture wraps into the area on the northwest side of the low pressure system, according to the NWS.

Snow is expected to fall moderately at times this afternoon before ending by early evening.

A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. Monday. Expect snow up between 1 to 3 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze, resulting in slippery road conditions that could impact the morning commute and will likely impact the evening commute.

Roads may be especially slippery for the morning commute due to a light glaze on untreated roads.

Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution while traveling. Remember to allow extra time for the morning and evening commute. The latest road conditionscan be obtained by calling 5 1 1.
