Two people are hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash Thursday in the Waupaca County town of Dayton, according to the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department.
The crash was reported just before 4 p.m. just west of East West Road.
An initial investigation suggests the driver, a 53-year-old Waupaca man, was headed westbound when he tried to pass another vehicle and lost control. The man veered into the ditch and struck a tree.
The driver and one passenger, a 43-year-old Waupaca woman, were both injured. Weather conditions prevented medical helicopters from responding to the crash, so both were transported to a Fox Valley hospital via ambulance, according to the release.
No names have been released.
The crash remains under investigation.
