One person is hospitalized and one person is facing felony charges after a New Year’s Day altercation at a Rib Lake tavern, according to a news release.

Police responded at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to the Birds Nest, where a 911 caller reported a man was injured.

Taylor County Sheriff’s officials discovered blood on the street and at the tavern’s entrance, then discovered a man clutching rags to his chest and stomach who said he had been stabbed.

The victim, who was stabbed about seven times, was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive, according to police.

The suspect, 29-year-old Andrew Eisner, is being held on a $20,000 bond and is facing charges of aggravated battery with intent to cause substantial bodily harm. Formal charges have not yet been filed.

Police say the two men knew one another.
