ROTHSCHILD — Monk Botanical Gardens will hold Trivia Night and Fundraiser from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Feb. 8 at Holiday Inn & Suites, 1000 Imperial Ave. in Rothschild.
Participants can form a team for $35 per person with up to six people per team. Included in the cost is eight rounds of trivia and light appetizers. Also available with an additional contribution is a “fact or fiction” speed trivia round, silent auction and cash bar. Prizes will be awarded to winners of each round. The top scoring team will win the grand prize of $600 cash.
This event will help the gardens continue to grow into one of central Wisconsin’s most outstanding natural, cultural and educational attractions. The money raised will help the gardens:
- Hire a horticulture and grounds manager to oversee and maintain the gardens, train interns and develop new gardens.
- Offer environmental education programs to children and families in the Wausau community.
- Provide engaging, mission-based events, such as its Green Saturday Plant Sale, Flea Market &
Workshops, Shakespeare in the Gardens and, new this year, Alice in the Gardens. - Install a kiosk and signs at the kitchen garden to increase public education.
