WAUSAU — People for the Power of Love will hold a three-day MLK Jr. symposium and celebration of his work Jan. 18, 19 and 20 at Whitewater Music Hall, 130 First St., Wausau.

Beyond the Words: A Call to Action is organized to help foster a continuous, community-wide discussion of issues related to segregation and inclusivity, facilitate a mutual learning experience and search for creative solutions.

The schedule is as follows:

Jan. 18: Into the Deep with Chris Norfleet and David Deon Stuart. Registration at 8:30 a.m.; program from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch included.

Jan. 19: Lessons from Birmingham, with Pastor Joseph Ellwanger. Program from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Jan. 20: Celebration with keynote speaker Brandi Grayson and musical performance by The Soul Inspirations. Cocktails from 5:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.; dinner at 6 p.m.; program from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday attendees receive free admission to the Jan. 20 event.
