Police are investigating the death of a three-year-old child who was found unresponsive in a bathtub earlier this week.
According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded at about 8:42 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8, to a Mercer home after a 911 call.
The child was transported to Ascension Howard Young Hospital in Woodruff and was pronounced dead about 90 minutes later, police said.
A forensic autopsy is scheduled. Police have not released the child’s name. The Iron County Coroner’s Office is assisting in the death investigation.
