With bitterly cold temperatures, the urge to warm up a vehicle before driving away can be strong.

But Wausau Police say that was a mistake for two unlucky drivers on Thursday.

As wind chills plummeted into sub-zero range, two vehicles were stolen in a four-hour span on Thursday, police said. Both vehicles were running unattended with keys in the ignition.

“We recovered one, but the other is still out there,” police said, in a Facebook post. “Don’t be that person, it’s too cold to walk.”
