Crews in Wausau responded Saturday to a house fire on the city’s east side.
The blaze was reported just before 2 p.m. on Prospect Avenue near Single Avenue. At least one person was inside the home when the blaze broke out but escaped safely, according to initial scanner reports.
Crews quickly controlled the blaze, which appears to have started in a sun room on the first floor of the home.
As of 2:10 p.m., firefighters continued working to ventilate heavy smoke from the home.
No injuries have been reported.
