Students in the Wausau West High School Foundations of Leadership class made and presented fleece tie blankets for children with extended stays at Aspirus Wausau Hospital and Ascension Saint Clare’s Hospital in Weston. This month-long service project was based on an initiative called Tying for Hope. Students raised money to buy 22 tie-blanket kits and made them during class. Students focused on three things to bring the project to fruition — fundraising, materials and public relations. The Foundations of Leadership class is taught by Ian Weber.
