Aspirus Hospice Patient/Family Support (Home Care). Volunteers provide emotional support to patients and their families as they give respite to caregivers and read, walk or sit with patients. Contact Samantha at 715-847-2424 or Samantha.Giese@aspirus.org.

Gigi’s Playhouse: Help for Upcoming Open House Event. Help raise awareness and support the new Down Syndrome Achievement Center at their new building. Man tables and help with the event in various says. Contact Erica at wausau@gigisplayhouse.org.

Bus Route Companions. Ride the bus and sign students in, as it picks up Boys & Girls Club members from school enroute to the club. Volunteers are needed at least once a week Monday-Wednesday or Friday between 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Contact Mao at 715-845-2582, ext. 213, or maot@bgclub.com.

Digitization Assistance. The Marathon County Historical Society is looking for people to take old photos, maps and documents and convert them to digitized form. Experience is preferred, but training can be provided. Hours are flexible, Tuesday-Fridays between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Contact Ben Clark at 715-842-5750 or bclark@marathoncountyhistory.org.

Rothschild Reading Buddies. Help Rothschild elementary students enjoy reading while building a relationship with a positive adult role-model. New program beginning in February at this location on Fridays from noon – 1 p.m.  Contact Krista at 715-298-5719 or at kmischo@unitedwaymc.org.

In-Kind Donated Items Needed

Boys Undergarments—Briefs, Boxers, T-shirts. Bare Necessities is a project of the Workplace Volunteer Council which collects and distributes new undergarments to families in need. Men, women and children’s undergarments (briefs, boxers, T-shirts and panties) are needed in all sizes and quantities. Boys Size 2T, 3T and 4T is especially needed right now! Polar Plunge Equipment and Tools. The Wisconsin Special Olympics would like to borrow or attain the following items: snow shovel, sand shovel, fence post drivers, tools to construct scaffolding, a small step ladder and assorted screw drivers, hammers and small power drills. Towels. New bath towels, washcloths and dishtowels are a great help to those living at The Women’s Community. Contact Allie at 715-842-5663 or allie@womenscommunity.org.
