WAUSAU – The Badger State Games’ Winter Games will host several sporting events this weekend, allowing athletes of all ages and abilities to medal with a gold, silver or bronze and a chance to compete in the State Games of America in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Here’s what’s coming up this weekend:

1st Annual Bucks & Bulls Archery 5-Yard Tournament

A first-time event, youth archers up to age 9 will compete in three age groups and in three classes. On-site registration is available. More details available at www.visitwausau.com/cubyouth-5-yards-archery.

Bucks & Bulls Archery, 3296 Church St., Stevens Point

Flight times:

Jan. 31: 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Feb. 1 and 2: 10 a.m., Noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Curling

Curling is sold out for 2020 Winter Games, with 48 team registered. Teams will compete in the divisions of Men’s, Women’s, Open Adult, Open Juniors, and Open Stick (includes wheelchair). Registration is closed. More details available at www.visitwausau.com/curling.

Figure Skating

Over 450 figure skaters will gather to compete on the ice in solo and team events. Registration is closed. More details available at www.visitwausau.com/figureskating.

Jan. 30-Feb. 2

Mosinee Recreation Center, 701 11th St., Mosinee

Handball

Another first-time event, teams will be coming from Appleton and Minnesota to compete. As part of this event, teams will be hosting a free youth clinic to anyone interested in learning handball. Participants grades K-8 will learn drills, passing, shooting and defensive skills. More details available at www.visitwausau.com/handball.

Feb. 1

Wausau East Gymnasium, 2607 N. 18th St., Wausau

Games begin at 10 a.m.
