A Rise Up Mural public painting event held Saturday in Wausau attracted many volunteers who begin the painting process for the current project that will eventually be displayed on the Frontier Communications Building in downtown Wausau.
Artists of all ages applied the acrylic paint to several of the 144 sections of the mural, laying the groundwork for Rise Up Artists who blend and finalize the artwork that will depict the transition from addiction and mental illness to recovery.
Rise Up has teamed with Lakeside Recovery and North Central Health Care and several local agencies and benefactors for this endeavor.
Anticipated completion and dedication is planned for early summer.
