UPDATE: A stateside Silver Alert for a missing Rib Lake man has been canceled.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice reports 70-year-old Robert Butler has been found and is safe.

A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Rib Lake man last seen Sunday morning.

Police say 70-year-old Robert Butler left his residence at about 8:30 a.m. with a wallet and keys after becoming verbally hostile and saying he was leaving for Florida.

Mr. Butler is described as a white man who is 6’2″ tall and about 235 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen wearing jeans with holes in them, brown shoes, a dark greenish gray jacket with the name “Clayton” on it. He wears glasses.

No photo was attached to the alert, but it will be added to this post if one is provided.

Mr. Butler is driving a 1999 teal Plymouth Voyager with Wis. license plate 132ZLF.

Anyone with information is asked to call Taylor County Sheriff’s Department at 715-748-2200 Ext. 5.

A Silver Alert, issued by the Wisconsin Department of Justice, is a widely publicized bulletin that alerts the public when an elderly person or a person with a cognitive disability goes missing.
