Two people were injured Monday in an apparent stabbing at a west side residence in Wausau.

One person is in custody.

Rescue workers were initially called at about 4:30 p.m. to a home in the 1000 block of South 9th Avenue for a report of a man who had been stabbed.

When they arrived, they discovered a male who suffered multiple stab wounds to the back with what appears to have been a kitchen knife, according to initial scanner traffic.

A second medical unit was called to the scene for a male in police custody at the same residence with minor knife wounds.

There’s no word yet on the ages of the people involved, the severity of their injuries or what prompted the incident.

This is a developing story.
