City Pages, Wausau’s alternative weekly print newspaper, has been sold to Waupaca-based Multi Media Channels, according to a social media news release.

MMC is owner of several publications including the Wausau Times/Buyers Guide.

Tammy Stezenski, who founded City Pages in 1993, will stay on as managing editor.

The news and entertainment weekly is based in Wausau and has an estimated circulation of 18,000. The newspaper employs a staff of 10.

MMC, which began its work in community newspaper publishing in Denmark, Wis. in 1953, expanded to eventually work with 24 publications and 14 digital channels.

Tim Schreiber, MMC regional manager, said that City Pages will be a valuable asset to his company, which currently owns Merrill Foto News, the Stevens Point City Times, Portage County Gazette and other area publications. Schrieber said he has no plans to combine the publications or make changes.
