STEVENS POINT — The Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra continues its 71st season of CommUNITY on Feb. 22 and 23 by taking its listeners on a musical journey at the Sentry Theater, 1800 Northpoint Drive, Stevens Point.
Voyages and Variations will be performed under the direction of Andres Moran and open with Mendelssohn’s “Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage,” a piece that tells the story of the anxieties and tribulations of sailors on the unpredictable sea
Pre-concert discussions with Moran will be held before each performance: From 6:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Feb. 22 and 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 23. Moran will discuss aspects about the pieces and composers that will complement the listening experience. The Feb. 22 performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and the Feb. 23 performance begins at 4 p.m.
