A winter storm warning has been issued for much of Wisconsin including Marathon County from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Up to 8 inches of heavy, wet snow is expected in the Wausau area, according to the National Weather Service in Green Bay.

Travel will be hazardous, especially from late morning until early afternoon.

Roads will be snow-covered and slippery with greatly reduced visibility, officials say. Motorists who must travel are urged to keep an extra flashlight food and water in the vehicle in case of an emergency.
