The driver of a pickup that struck and killed a 6-year-old girl and injured her 4-year-old sister Monday at a Waushara County bus stop has been identified as Carl Mullenix, 76.
Police say Mullenix was driving on the shoulder of the road when he struck the two victims, who were waiting to board a school bus. The bus was stopped and had lights activated at the time of the crash, police said.
The crash happened around 7:15 a.m. Monday on Hwy. 73 near Plainfield in the town of Oasis.
There’s no word on whether Mullenix will face charges or citations in connection with the crash.
Tri-County School District officals say the wounded child is recovering at home.
Police will not be releasing the name of the victim due to her age.
