Dear editor,

I believe the government closest to the people governs best. It is the most responsive to the needs of the community and has a powerful impact in our everyday lives. That responsiveness, though, is only as strong as the accessibility of elected officials by the citizenry. I ran on being more transparent as a trustee for the village of Weston and take that seriously.

To that end, I will be holding monthly open door meetings. It is my sincere desire to hear your questions, thoughts and concerns about our community. My February open door meeting will be at Vino Latte in Weston on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. If that time doesn’t work for you, please reach out to my trustee email account at [email protected] or visit my Facebook page, “Village Trustee Nate Fiene.” I look forward to hearing from you and continuing to serve you.

Nate Fiene of Weston and a member of the Weston Village Board
