Members of the D.C. Everest School board on Wednesday will go into closed session following their regularly scheduled meeting to discuss, among other issues, a staff misconduct investigation, according to the meeting’s public agenda.
The agenda does not specify which staff member is the subject of the discussion. But last week school officials placed a high school geography teacher on leave amid allegations he recorded so-called “upskirt” videos of students at the school, a practice that could have been occurring over a five-year span.
Travis Greil, 38, appeared Friday for a probable cause hearing in Marathon County Circuit Court, where a judge ordered him held on a $100,000 bond with the first $20,000 to be paid in cash.
He is free after posting the cash portion of his bond.
Everest Metro Police launched an investigation into Greil’s activities on Feb. 12, which prompted school officials to place Greil on leave and disabling his district key card access. Greil was also ordered to stay off school property. He is accused of using an electronic device in the school to record underneath the clothing of a student without the student’s consent.
Police have so far recovered more than 100 videos and are combing through additional devices seized in a search warrant of Greil’s Wausau home, officials said.
Greil, who taught global studies, human geography and AP classes at D.C. Everest High School, is due in court Feb. 28 for an initial appearance, when official charges will be filed in the case.
