WAUSAU– The SPASH Panthers took it to Wausau East on Tuesday night in a Wisconsin Valley Conference boys basketball clash.

The Panthers won 84-51.

Leading the way for the Panthers were James Jacob and Austin Beyer, each of whom scored 15 points.

Nate Streveler netted 12 points for SPASH.

Evan Vollendorf added 10 points, as did Bryce Pelky.

Gabe Krueger led the Lumberjacks with 25 points.  Ben Cayley had 11, including two baskets from long distance.

SPASH raced out to a 12-point advantage at halftime and doubled up East in the second half to cruise to the win.

WAUSAU– The Warriors were limited to 15 first half points as the Tigers notched a win on the road.

Anthony Posteluk led Marshfield with 27 points.  Joey Goettl added 14.

Amillion Buggs had 19 points to lead the Warriors.  Mitchell Zahurones added 15.

After taking a 27-15 lead into halftime, the Tigers held off a second half Warriors rally to take the win.

WESTON– The Evergreens clinched at least a tie of the Wisconsin Valley Conference title with just one game remaining on the conference schedule.

The Evergreens will travel to Merrill on February 21 to conclude the Valley season.

WESTON– The #7 seeded Everest boys hockey team took care of #10 Barron Co-op in regional action on Tuesday.

The Evergreens will move on to face #2 Wausau West on Thursday, February 20.

Eau Claire Memorial 10, Wausau East-Merrill 1

EAU CLAIRE– The Bluejacks’ season came to an end as Eau Claire Memorial won in convincing fashion in regional action.

East-Merrill got just one goal, which came in the second period.

Meanwhile, Memorial lit up the Bluejacks for four goals in both the first and second periods and added two goals in the third.
