WAUSAU — The city of Wausau will hold two public information meetings on its wastewater and drinking water treatment facilities, one each in February and March.

The meetings are as follows:

When: 5:30 p.m. Feb. 26
Where: Northcentral Technical College, 1000 West Campus Drive – Room E101-E102, Wausau

When: 5 p.m. March 18
Where: Wausau City Hall – Council Chambers, 407 Grant St., Wausau

The Wausau Waterworks Commission and City Council approved the water treatment projects in the spring of 2019. The drinking water project is out for bid and the wastewater project will begin advertising for bid in early March. Designs for both projects are completed and will be available at the meetings for public review.

City staff and the engineer consultants will provide a short presentation for each project and will be available to answer questions related to proposed plans.

A public presentation related to the proposed utility capital borrowing, debt issuance and proposed rate increases was provided to the Wausau Waterworks Commission in November 2019. That presentation can be viewed at ci.wausau.wi.us/Departments/WausauWaterWorks/Billing.aspx.

Previous public presentations related to these projects can be found at ci.wausau.wi.us/Departments/WausauWaterWorks/UtilityProjects.aspx.
