A 33-year-old Rothschild man discovered with his pants pulled down in the backseat of an SUV with a 17-year-old girl is now facing felony charges of child enticement in Marathon County Circuit Court.

Nathaniel S. Jacks was arrested at 3:16 a.m. Feb. 21 in the parking lot of Oak Island Park, 500 River Drive, after officers found his silver Ford Escape parked after hours. Wausau parks close at 11 p.m.

Police say Jacks and the girl met as coworkers and developed a friendship. On the night he was arrested, Jacks said he moved to the back seat to have a conversation with the girl about an argument she was having with a family member. But later, Jacks allegedly told police he intended to have sex with the girl in the park, according to court documents.

Felony child enticement charges were filed Feb. 24.

During an initial appearance, Circuit Judge Jill Falstad set a $2,500 signature bond for Jacks, who has no prior criminal history in Wisconsin. He faces up to 25 years in the Wisconsin Prison System if he is convicted of the charge.

Jacks was also ordered not to have any contact with the girl or any children younger than 18.

A preliminary hearing is set for March 17.
