MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin state boys basketball tournament is the latest event to be affected by the coronavirus.

General admission tickets won’t be available for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association tournament March 19-21 at the Kohl Center, according to the University of Wisconsin.

The games will be played and teams will be allotted a limited number of tickets per their rosters, the university said. Tickets will be given to each team for distribution.

The decision to go ahead with the competition without general admission fans was made in consultation with local and state public health officials. They recommend limiting large gatherings on campuses in light of COVID-19.

According to the World Health Organization, people with mild illness recover in about two weeks, while those with more severe illness may take three to six weeks to recover.

Meanwhile, President Donald Trump’s campaign has canceled an event in Wisconsin next week because of the coronavirus. The “Catholics for Trump” event was scheduled March 19 in Milwaukee.
